We have calculated the effect of normal electron-electron scattering (NEES) on the electron mean free path in a thin metallic film. A free-electron model was assumed, as is appropriate to nontransition metals. NEES collisions were taken to be nonresistive. Their only effect is to change the direction of the electron trajectory, driving it toward (or away from) the surface of the film, where it undergoes a diffusive electron-surface collision. The results of the calculation were applied to the low-temperature anomalous surface impedance, leading to agreement with the data for Al and Cu.
