Reactive Transport in Porous Media

Abstract

Reactive Transport in Porous Media was prepared in conjunction with a Mineralogical Society of America short course. The objective of the course and this companion text was to provide an expansive, multidisciplinary treatment of reactive transport in porous media. This work focuses on developing an improved quantitative and qualitative understanding of the individual physical and biogeochemical processes involved and the complexity of their combined effects through numerical modeling of these systems. Although the focus is on modeling, the editors and authors provide an excellent presentation of the relevant physics, geology, geochemistry, microbiology and hydrology as well as the mathematical and numerical representation of these systems.
