Metabolic effects of partial gastrectomy with special reference to calcium and folic acid

EDITORIAL SYNOPSIS Spinal rarefaction is greater in patients who have had a partial gastrectomy than in matched controls. The nature of the bone lesion after operation was mainly osteoporosis but there was some biochemical and histological evidence of osteomalacia as well.
