A discussion of transition probabilities and branching ratios is presented. Transition probabilities are explicitly written down for the K shell and the L subshells for allowed through second-forbidden captures. The relative contributions of capture by the various subshells and of positron emission are examined in detail. The procedure used in obtaining the electron wave functions is outlined. (W.D.M.)
