For the identification and subsequent confirmation of 46 drugs related to doping of thoroughbred horses the following methods are proposed: thin-layer chromatography, ultraviolet spectrophotometry, high-performance liquid chromatography and gas chromatography with flame-ionisation, nitrogen-phosphorus and mass-selective detection. The combined detection procedure is versatile, sensitive, reliable and recommended for doping control analysis.
