Abstract The semiempirical potential-model calculations of Baylis have been repeated with some modifications. Firstly, an exact calculation of the Pauli exclusion pseudopotential for the repulsion between alkali core and rare gas atom has been carried out. Secondly, the new atomic radial orbitals proposed by Simons were taken for the calculation instead of those of the Bates-Dam-gaard type. The adiabatic potentials calculated here have, in general, a similar character as the previous ones obtained by Pascale et al. However, many of them are seriously modified.
