Discrete symmetries and the periodic-orbit expansions

Abstract

A factorization of the dynamical Z function of the periodic-orbit expansion is presented for a Hamiltonian system displaying discrete symmetries. It is shown that the periodic orbits that are pointwise invariant under a symmetry operation require special treatment.
