We calculate the effect of superconducting fluctuations above ${T}_{c}$ on the inelastic scattering time, 1/${\ensuremath{\tau}}_{\ensuremath{\epsilon}}$, in two dimensions in the presence of the magnetic field. The pair-breaking effect of inelastic scattering is taken into account in a self-consistent way. The field dependence of 1/${\ensuremath{\tau}}_{\ensuremath{\epsilon}}$ is directly accessible in magnetoresistance measurements.
