Abstract A novel sequence of Sonogashira coupling and acid‐mediated nucleophilic addition to the ynone intermediate with concomitant deprotection and cyclocondensation opens a new one‐pot synthetic access to 3‐chloro‐, 3‐iodo‐, and 3‐chloro‐4‐iodo‐furans in moderate to good yields.
