Abstract The antagonistic activity of nine plant extracts, traditionally used in Caribbean folk medicine, versus tert ‐butyl hydroperoxide has been evaluated on isolated hepatocytes. These results are completed by the evaluation of the antiradical potential of these extracts against a solution of diphenyl picryl hydrazyl radical. In all cases, an aqueous extract of Rosmarinus officinalis was used as a natural reference extract.
