This study is a preliminary report evaluating the changes in cerebral oxygenation during the tracheal extubation. Cerebral oxygenated hemoglobin increased significantly, presumably caused by the increase in cerebral blood flow during extubation. In addition, these changes were enhanced by calcium channel blockers.
