In this short, well prepared monograph, Dr. Leksell describes his apparatus and clearly discusses its use. A review of the clinical results of this stereotaxic method is promised in a companion volume. The Leksell instrument has been one of the most widely accepted and used stereotaxic instruments and has served also as the prototype for a number of modifications. Dr. Leksell has pioneered stereotaxic radiosurgery, and in his volume he briefly describes the technical aspects of this promising technique. The book is recommended to students of stereotaxy as a well prepared manual for a classical method.
