The sonograms of surgically proved intracystic carcinomas in two patients narrowed down the differential diagnoses significantly from those suggested by the xeromammograms. The authors recommend ultrasonography as the diagnostic modality of choice for evaluation of a well-circumscribed lesion seen by mammography.
