The study of shielding configurations requires an analysis of ac electromagnetic fields. However, the fine meshes required within the shield make ac analysis uneconomic and a static analysis is usually employed. In this paper, the impedance boundary condition, cast in vector potential form as a general Neumann condition, is naturally imposed through Galerkin’s method to eliminate eddy currents from the domain. This allows a more exact ac analysis to be employed.
