The static equation of state of Al has been measured to 220 GPa, corresponding to a compression of $\frac{V}{{V}_{0}}=0.50$. No phase transformation from the fcc to hcp phase was observed. The equation of state fits the H11 form for a simple solid as defined by W.B. Holzapfel Phys. Rev. B 48 767 1993 with no free parameters. These results are also consistent with recent shock data on Al to a pressure of 1 TPa ($\frac{V}{{V}_{0}}=0.30$) Phys. Rev. Lett. 60 1414 1988. The ultrasonic, static, and shock equations of state of Al are reconciled and compared to theoretical predictions.
