Abstract

ABSTRACT The nuclear Rrn18 gene coding for small‐subunit ribosomal RNA was amplified from Chlamydomonas humicola and C. dysosmos. The sequences were identical, in agreement with the combination of these two species under the name C. applanata on morphological and physiological grounds by Ettl and Schlösser (1992 ).
