Reviewing the uses of accelerated curing of concrete, this article from the Indian Central Building Research Institute at Roorkee notes that various forms have been used, but mostly for precast work. Attention has now focused on rapid curing of in situ construction, and this paper presents the results from direct electric curing, which has proved to be more economical and to consume less energy than other methods. An appendix outlines the finite element method formulation used to decide the number of electrodes required and their distribution pattern within the concrete.
