Alfalfa, Medicago sativa L., plants were exposed to larvae of the clover root curculio, Sitona hispidula (F.), and the bacterial wilt causal organism, Corynebacterium insidiosum (McCull.) H. L. Jens., in factorial combinations. Both factors significantly reduced top growth of alfalfa plants in the greenhouse, and a higher level of bacterial wilt was observed when S. hispidula was present than when it was absent.
