Abstract

Abstract A new method for the preparation of alkyl aryl sulfides from alcohols via alkoxydiphenylphosphines by oxidation–reduction condensation was established. Various primary, secondary, and tertiary alcohols were successfully converted into the corresponding sulfides in moderate to high yields.
