Abstract

1. The observations of the writers do not tend to confirm the earlier statements of the great length of Nereocystis and Macrocystis. 2. Their observations on Alaria fistulosa confirm earlier statements of its length. Its maximum width was found to be more than twice as great as reported in literature that has come to the attention of the writers.
