Flux-tube structure and β functions in SU(2)

Abstract

The spatial distribution of the action and energy in the color fields of flux tubes is studied in lattice SU(2) field theory for static quarks at separations up to 1 fm at $\ensuremath{\beta}=2.4,2.5.$ The ground and excited states of the color fields are considered. Sum rules are used to get estimates of generalized \ensuremath{\beta} functions.
