Abstract

Rapid colorimetric detection of magnesium ions is demonstrated via a convenient approach, based on EcoRI-modified gold nanoparticles and a specifically designed DNA duplex. EcoRI is an enzyme obtained from certain strains of Escherichia coli. Detailed facts of importance to specialist readers are published as ”Supporting Information”.
