Expanding an Energy Control Center to Include a Bulk System Security Package

Abstract

An energy control system with existing data gathering and supervisory control facilities has been upgraded to include a modern system security package. The history of the PSE& G control system is reviewed and the recently added computers and software to carry out the security analysis functions are described. Details of specific programming and data communications techniques used are also provided.
