Effect Yarns: Properties and Parameters

Abstract

Because of their importance in some apparel, hand-knitted, and upholstery fabrics, an attempt is made to classify fancy yarns and to study the effect of parameters such as linear densities, bulk coefficients, and colour content in soufflé, ombré, and woollen yarns. The results may help to form a basis for improving repeatability and for engineering new yarns.
