Abstract

We study the magnetic field fluctuations generated by a turbulent swirling flow in the presence of an externally applied magnetic field. We show that the spectra of local magnetic field fluctuations have a region of power law scaling which is interpreted in terms of Kolmogorov's model of turbulent velocity fluctuations. We also discuss the mean and rms values of the magnetic field induced by the velocity gradients.
