Flagellar and body scales in the chrysophyte<i>Mallomonas multiunca</i>Asmund

Abstract

EM examinations have been carried out on shadowcast preparations of the freshwater flagellate Mallomonas multiunca Asmund. Unmineralized flagellar scales are illustrated together with variations in the polygonal network which forms the reticulate thickenings of the body scales.
