The principal chemical properties of thioamides are surveyed — hydrolysis, reduction and oxidation, and reactions with inorganic and organic amines, acid chlorides, aldehydes and ketones, alkyl halides, and halogenated amines, ketones, and acids. A list of 274 references is included.
