Design of Trigonal-Bipyramidal ZnN₃S₂ Complexes

Abstract

The combination of chelating N3 ligand units, which coordinate meridionally, with thiophenolate donors results in non-oligomeric ZnN3S2 complexes. This has been verified by the synthesis and structure determination of the complexes Zn(BPA)(SPh)2 (BPA = bis(2-pyridylmethyl)amine) and Zn(BMAP), which is derived from the new pentadentate ligand BMAPH2 = 2,6-bis(((2-mercaptophenyl)amino)methyl)pyridine.
