Growth defects in calcium tungstate single crystals

Abstract

Growth defects occurring in single crystals of calcium tungstate grown by pulling from the melt are described, and correlated with growth parameters. An understanding of the origins of these defects has been obtained and has led to improvements in the growth technique and to the production of more perfect material.
