Multifunctional superparamagnetic attapulgite/Fe<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>/polyaniline (APT/Fe<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>/PANI) nanocomposites have been fabricated by a one-pot process using Fe(<sc>iii</sc>) as the oxidant for aniline and the precursor of Fe<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub> in the presence of attapulgite.
