Vanadium complexes containing the 2,4,6-tris(trifluoromethyl)phenyl (‘fluoromes’) ligand

Abstract

Treatment of [VCl3(thf)3](thf = tetrahydrofuran) with Li[C6H2(CF3)3-2,4,6] affords the first early transition-metal complexes containing the σ-bonded fluoromes ligand; the molecular structures of [V{C6H2(CF3)3-2,4,6}2Cl(thf)] 1 and [V{C6H2(CF3)3-2,4,6}3OLi(thf)3] 2 are described.
