Abstract

A synthetic procedure is described which allows the oxidation of primary and secondary alcohols to the corresponding carbonyl compounds with dilute hydrogen peroxide, employing Mo(VI) and W(VI) as catalysts, under phase-transfer conditions (Aliquat 336), characterized by high yields and selectivities. © 1986, American Chemical Society.
