Abstract

We study weak containment relations between unitary representations of a group <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> G G </inline-formula> and a closed normal subgroup <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> K K </inline-formula> by exploiting a property of <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> G G </inline-formula> -ergodic quasi-invariant measures on the primitive ideal space of <inline-formula content-type="math/mathml"> K K </inline-formula> .
