Abstract The views on donor insemination (DI) of 35 participating Polish couples were examined for: success rate; confidentiality; importance of donor characteristics; and decision-making determinants. All couples preferred treatment to be confidential; wanted information about the health and physical appearance of the donor and were choosing DI in preference to adoption because of the child's genetic link with the female partner.
