Abstract

Trapped spin trap: CD-DEPMPO, a cyclodextrin–DEPMPO conjugate spin trap, exhibits improved performances in superoxide detection. Using blood as a biological model system, the superoxide CD-DEPMPO adduct was still unambiguously detected after 70 min, whereas using DEPMPO the signal of the superoxide adduct was not detected. (DEPMPO=5-diethoxyphosphoryl-5-methyl-1-pyrroline-N-oxide.) Detailed facts of importance to specialist readers are published as ”Supporting Information”.
