Abstract

ABSTRACT Among 92 dogs with disturbance of a growth plate, were 58 with early closure of the distal ulnar pla'te. For the latter group the breed, sex and age prevalence are indicated, and an account is provided of the main clinical and radiographic features associated with this condition. Treatment was by stapling in the majority while others were treated by osteotomy or conservatively. Measurements were made on radiographs of the bones affected to establish the degree of length loss before and after treatment. Aspects of the aetiology, diagnosis and treatment of this condition are discussed.
