Abstract Phase-pure perovskite powders of Pb(Mg1/3Ta2/3)O3-Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3(PMT-PMN) system were prepared through a B-site precursor route. Maximum dielectric constants and Curie temperatures (@1kHz) of PMT and PMN were 8,700 and 20,000 at -85° and -5°C, respectively. Both PMT and PMN showed relaxor behaviours. Diffuse characters of dielectric constant spectra in the paraelectric region were thoroughly explored.
