Abstract Background Calcipotriol ointment is an effective treatment For psoriasis vulgaris. Although cream formulations have a less emollient effect they are often more acceptable to patients. Objective To compare calcipotriol 50 μg/g in two different cream formulations with vehicle in patients with psoriasis vulgaris. Method A randomised, double‐blind, parallel group, multi‐centre, comparison of cream A in which calcipotriol 50μg/g is dissolved, cream B in which calcipotriol 50 μg/g is suspended as tine particles and vehicle. A 2‐week wash‐out period was followed by 8 weeks double‐blind treatment.
