o-Phenylenemagnesium (1) was used to prepare the first structurally characterized intramolecularly coordinated diindacycle: 9,10-dihydro-9,10-bis[2,6-bis((dimethylamino)methyl)phenyl]-9,10-diindaanthracene (3).
