Abstract

A simple method of urinalysis, sensitive enough to detect 0.007 dis/min plutonium in 250 ml of urine, is described. In this method, anion exchange is used to separate plutonium from other inorganic ions remaining after evaporation and oxidation of the urine. The quantity of plutonium is then determined by counting α-tracks in an autoradiograph of the metal disk upon which the plutonium has been electrodeposited.
