[H₆As₁₀Mo₂₄O₉₀]^8⊖, a Heteropolyanion Comprising Two Linked Spherical Fragments, and Reduced Keggin Anions as Its Degradation Products

Abstract

The mixed valence anion of 1 consists of two partly spherically shaped units bound by four bridges and each containing an AsMo9 Keg-gin fragment with an attached ring of three AsO3- and three MoO6-polyhedra (right). The anions of 2 and 3, the products of the mild oxidative degradation of 1, are of the β- and α-Keggin type, respectively, and contain, in addition, the AsMo9 spherical fragment.
