A series of different amines was immobilized on a silica support by grafting or impregnation and tested for CO2 adsorption in simulated flue gases. This paper compares the adsorption isotherms and the cyclic adsorption capacities of these materials. Furthermore, we estimate the diffusion rate of CO2 from simulations of the breakthrough curves and discuss some aspects of the design of a potential adsorption process for CO2 capture.
