Measurements have been made of detachment from F- by electron impact for energies between 13 and 1000 eV. The cross section attained a maximum value of 2.74*10-16 cm2 at 68 eV. Thomson's classical scaling law was used to compare measured detachment cross sections of H-, C-, O- and F-. The scaled cross sections differed by a factor of less than four.
