Nonlinear Study of Vlasov's Equation for a Special Class of Distribution Functions

Abstract

Calculations on the ``water-bag model'' of a two-stream instability have been made by following the motion of the phase space boundaries. A large scale nonlinear wave is observed to evolve due to the condensation of holes in phase space.
