Electronic Services Unlimited, the leading "consultants" (i.e., promoters) of telecommuting, forecast that in 1985 over 7.2 million people will be working at home or in a "satellite office" via computers and telephone lines. This is the by-now famous "electronic cottage" fantasy of Toffler's Third Wave, a scenario curiously favored both by the New Right and some anarcho-libertarian types.
