Visual hallucinations in recovery from cortical blindness: imaging correlates.

Abstract

Recovery of vision was related to normalization of the postlesionally dysfunctional cortex. Visual hallucinations appeared as the clinical correlate of the electrophysiological hyperexcitability of the recovering partially damaged visual cortex.
