Pairing and general spin orbitals

Abstract

Correlation in extended systems can be treated by pairing spin orbitals which are occupied in the restricted Hartree-Fock scheme with virtual ones. The structure of the paired spin orbitals is analysed and specialised for each one of the eight classes in Fukutome's classification of general Hartree-Fock spin orbitals.
