Abstract

Abstract The static dielectric constant ε of pure ammonia was measured between—70°C and 210°C to a maximum pressure of 2000 bar. The evaluation of ε as a function of density and temperature from the original experimental quantities, capacitance, conductance, pressure, and temperature was performed by means of a specially developed computer program. The procedure is illustrated and discussed. Interpolation functions for the calculation of ε as derived from the experimental data are presented.
