Pancreatic leak after left pancreatectomy is reduced following main pancreatic duct ligation

Abstract

Pancreatic leak remains a common complication after left pancreatectomy. The incidence of leak is reduced significantly when the pancreatic duct is identified and directly ligated during left pancreatectomy.
