A sample of 150 male subjects was examined with a battery of colour vision tests (Ishihara, Hardy‐Rand‐Ritter, F‐M 100 Hue, and Pickford‐Nicolson anomaloscope), in order to analyze the distribution of colour vision disturbance in relation to the different types of appetite for alcohol (rejection, indifference, physiological, pharmacological and pathological). Results showed a highly significant association (P < 0.001) between blue‐yellow colour vision disturbances and pharmacological appetite either accompained by a pathological appetite or not.
